All is not lost - Men's team still have shot at gold

Canada's road to a gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics just got more difficult.

With the victory, the Americans win Group A and earn the automatic berth to the quarterfinal round. Canada finishes second in the group and must now play Germany on Tuesday in a qualification game.

If Canada beats Germany, it may set up a monster quarterfinal matchup. Since Russia has already earned a berth and is the third seed, it is likely that Canada will meet Russia on Wednesday.

Before a booming crowd so fitting of a rivalry of this magnitude goaltender Ryan Miller was outstanding for Team USA, stopping 42 of 45 shots Team Canada fired at him. Martin Brodeur made 18 saves in the Canadian net.
